	Originally built as a 17th Century Coaching Inn the Angel Hotel has over 450 years of history. The hotel is dripping with a rich history and stories abound of events and famous visitors over the years - from HG Wells to Elizabeth 1 from Hilaire Beloc to the Pilgrim fathers who stayed here on their journey to the coast before setting sail on their epic voyage. Angel Hotel Fire 16 March 2023 The Hotel was destroyed after a fire which broke out at 1am today. see Angel Fire
